BAKU, Azerbaijan, February 4. Azerbaijan exported 474,100 tons of methanol (methyl alcohol) worth $104.4 million in 2024.
The data obtained by Trend from the State Customs Committee shows that this marks an increase of $14.5 million (16.2 percent) in value and a 27,500-ton (5.5 percent) decrease in volume compared to 2023.
Methanol exports accounted for 0.39 percent of the country's total exports and 3.11 percent of non-oil exports in 2024.
Moreover, Azerbaijan's methanol exports were valued at $89.8 million in 2023, with a total volume of 501,600 tons.
In total, Azerbaijan exported 1.1 million tons of chemical industry products worth $293.7 million in 2024. This is an increase of $45.5 million (18.3 percent) in value and 169,500 tons (18 percent) in volume compared to 2023.
Additionally, chemical industry products made up 1.11 percent of Azerbaijan's total exports and 8.75 percent of non-oil sector exports during the reporting period.
