BAKU, Azerbaijan, February 5. Azerbaijan’s production of steel casting reached a significant milestone in 2024, with over 350,000 tons produced.
Data obtained by Trend from the State Customs Committee indicates that this represents an increase of 28,900 tons, or 8.9 percent, compared to 2023.
Meanwhile, the stock of finished products reached 1,400 tons as of January 1, 2025.
The report highlights that the production of rebar in Azerbaijan also surged, totaling more than 438,600 tons in 2024, reflecting a substantial rise of 97,800 tons, or 28.7 percent year-on-year. The country’s stock of finished products as of January 1, 2025, stood at 23,800 tons.
Notably, a total of 1.3 billion manat ($764 million) worth of products have been produced in the sphere of the metallurgical industry and the production of finished metal products in Azerbaijan in 2024.
According to the information, 38.9 percent growth was observed in the production of finished metal products and a 27.1 percent rise in the production of metallurgical industry products.
To note, production of copper wire in the metallurgical industry increased by 5.5 times, aluminum products - by 72.1 percent, fittings - by 28.7 percent, other metal products - by 20.4 percent, stranded wires without insulation, cables, and similar products - by 17.9 percent in 2024.
