BAKU, Azerbaijan, February 12. Azerbaijan shipped out 1.01 tons of sturgeon roe (caviar) in the first 11 months of 2024, making waves in the market.
The data obtained by Trend from the State Statistical Committee shows that the export value of this quantity of product amounted to over $1 million.
Moreover, the country's export of sturgeon caviar saw a substantial increase compared to the same period in 2023, with the volume rising by 840 kilograms, or 6 times, and the value increasing by $950,000, or 9.8 times.
Meanwhile, the volume of sturgeon caviar exported from Azerbaijan in 2023 was around 170 kilograms, valued at $109,000.
Notably, Azerbaijan exported sturgeon caviar to a diverse range of markets, including Kazakhstan, the US, the UAE, Hong Kong, Mexico, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Japan, and Hungary.
