BAKU, Azerbaijan, February 19. The TRACECA (Transport Corridor Europe-Caucasus-Asia) saw 8.32 million tons of cargo traffic in 2024.

The data obtained by Trend from the State Statistics Committee of Azerbaijan indicates that this figure decreased by 1.2 million tons (10.9 percent) compared to 2023 (9.3 million tons).

To note, the volume of cargo transported along the transport corridors last year totaled 33.25 million tons.

Moreover, 46 percent, equating to 15.28 million tons, was conveyed via rail modalities, while 30.3 percent, or 10.09 million tons, was executed through road transport mechanisms.

In addition, 23.7 percent, or 7.89 million tons, was transported through sea channels.

Meanwhile, the share of transit cargoes constituted 56.6 percent of the total volume - 18.84 million tons.
