BAKU, Azerbaijan, February 20. The tally of ferrous metals and their byproducts making their way into Azerbaijan hit a whopping 104,503 tons in January 2025.
The data obtained by Trend from the State Statistics Committee indicates that the cost of importing these products amounted to $100.4 million.
This marks an increase of over 27,500 tons, or 35.8 percent, in volume and a rise of $20.9 million, or 23.3 percent, in value compared to the same period last year.
Furthermore, the inbound logistics of ferrous alloys and their
derivatives aggregated approximately 76,929 metric tons, with a
valuation of $89.5 million in January 2024.
It is noteworthy that the importation of ferrous metals and their
derivatives constituted 7.84 percent of Azerbaijan's aggregate
import volume during the specified timeframe.
