Azerbaijan highlights year-over-year surge in Baku’s chemical sector

BAKU, Azerbaijan, February 20. The chemical industry of Azerbaijan's Baku produced 451.8 million manat ($265.7 million) worth of products in 2024.

The data obtained by Trend from the Baku City Statistics Department indicates that this figure marked a significant increase of over 16.8 percent compared to 2023 (386.8 million manat ($227.5 million)).

To note, a total of 2.1 billion manat ($1.2 billion) worth of chemical, pharmaceutical, rubber, and plastic products were produced in Azerbaijan last year.

Compared to the previous year, production of pharmaceutical products increased by 81.5 percent, rubber and plastic products - by 18 percent, and chemical industry products - by 6.5 percent.
