BAKU, Azerbaijan, February 22. The volume of bituminous coal imported to Azerbaijan reached 17,700 tons in 2024.
The data obtained by Trend from the State Customs Committee indicates that the cost of importing this amount of bituminous coal amounted to $3.1 million.
In the interim, the import volume experienced an uptick of
11,300 tons, representing a 2.8-fold increase, while the associated
expenditure escalated by $1.8 million, equating to a 2.3-fold
surge, in juxtaposition to the metrics from 2023 (6,300 tons of
bituminous coal, appraised at $1.3 million).
It is noteworthy that the entirety of bituminous coal imports into
Azerbaijan during the previous fiscal year was sourced solely from
the Russian Federation.
