BAKU, Azerbaijan, February 25. The volume of transit cargo transportation by road has increased by 4.8 times over the past four years.
The data obtained by Trend from the Land Transport Agency shows that the country's volume of road transit cargo transport reached 7.2 million tons in 2023, marking a 13 percent increase, or 800,000 tons, compared to the previous year. The increase was 5.7 million tons, or 4.8 times more than five years ago.
Additionally, the volume of road transit cargo was 6.4 million tons in 2023, while in 2020, it was only 1.5 million tons.
The data also highlights that in 2021 and 2022, the volume of road transit cargo transport was 2.1 million tons and 4.1 million tons, respectively.
