BAKU, Azerbaijan, February 27. Approximately $1.7 million changed hands in January 2025 as a result of trade between Azerbaijan and Pakistan.

Data obtained by Trend from the State Customs Committee of Azerbaijan shows that this marks a twofold increase compared to the same period in 2024 ($882,000).

All said and done, Azerbaijan didn't send a single item to Pakistan in January 2025. Imported goods made up a mere drop in the bucket, accounting for just 0.08 percent of the total imports.

It is noteworthy that Azerbaijan's international trade volume surpassed the $5 billion mark in January 2025.

This figure marks an increase of $2.1 billion, or 70.5 percent, compared to January 2023, when Azerbaijan’s foreign trade turnover amounted to $2.9 billion.

Moreover, trade turnover consisted of $3.3 billion in exports and $2.5 billion in imports in the past month, reflecting an increase of approximately $1.1 billion (64.8 percent) for exports and $910 million (79.7 percent) for imports compared to last year.

The Foreign Trade Surplus hit the jackpot at $986 million during the reporting period, climbing a whopping $285 million, or 40.7 percent, from the same time last year.
