BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 5. A total of 49.5 million manat ($29.1 million) has been invested by entrepreneurs in Azerbaijan's Neftchala Industrial District to date, and an additional 13.6 million manat ($8 million) investment is planned for existing projects, a source in the Economic Zones Development Agency (EZDA) under the Ministry of Economy told Trend.
The source noted that over 210 million manat ($123.5 million) worth of products have been manufactured in the Neftchala Industrial District, which is managed by EZDA, and 1.37 million manat ($800,000) of that amount is accounted for by exports.
Furthermore, positive dynamics have been observed in product production within the Industrial District. Specifically, in 2024, the product sales reached 60 million manat ($35.3 million), which is five times higher than the sales in 2023.
A total of six business entities, with an overall investment volume of over 63 million manat ($37.1 million), have been registered as residents in the Industrial District, and five of them have started production activities. To date, 49.5 million manat ($29.1 million) have been invested by entrepreneurs in the Industrial District, over 300 permanent jobs have been created, and in the next phase, an additional 200 jobs are planned to be created for existing projects.
