BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 8. Azerbaijan exported 2,000 tons of copper ores and concentrates in January of this year.
Data obtained by Trend from the State Customs Committee shows that the value of this amount of exports was $2.4 million.
This figure is 1,800 tons, or 10.5 times higher in terms of quantity, and $2.1 million, or 7.1 times higher in terms of value, compared to January of last year, when Azerbaijan exported 200 tons, valued at $300,000, of copper ores and concentrates.
To note, the share of copper ores and concentrates in total exports last month was 1.06 percent.
Last year, Azerbaijan exported copper ores and concentrates worth $2.1 million, totaling 1,200 tons. This is 89 percent, or $16.9 million, less in terms of value and 92.6 percent, or 15,400 tons, less in terms of quantity compared to the 2023 figures.
During the reporting month, copper ores and concentrates exports accounted for 0.07 percent of the country’s total exports.
