BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 10. The net revenue of banks operating in Azerbaijan from foreign exchange transactions, including exchange rate fluctuations, amounted to 27.7 million manat ($16.29 million) in January of this year.
Data obtained by Trend from the Central Bank of Azerbaijan shows that this indicator rose by 6.3 million manat ($3.7 million) or 29.4 percent compared to the same month last year.
Thus, in January last year, the net income of banks operating in Azerbaijan from currency transactions, including exchange rate fluctuations, was 21.4 million manat ($12.59 million).
Azerbaijani banks achieved a net profit of 71 million manat ($41.8 million) in January 2025, marking an increase of 28.6 million manat ($16.8 million) or 28.7 percent, compared to the same month last year. In the first month of 2024, the net profit of banks operating in Azerbaijan was 99.6 million manat ($58.59 million).
