BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 10. Azerbaijan imported 104,500 tons of ferrous metals and related products in January 2025.
Data obtained by Trend from the State Customs Committee indicates that the total cost of these imports amounted to $100.4 million.
Moreover, the country's imports of ferrous metals and related products saw a notable increase—up by 27,600 tons compared to the same period last year, or 35.8 percent in volume, and by $10.9 million, or 12.2 percent in value.
Additionally, Azerbaijan imported 76,900 tons of ferrous metals and products during the same period in 2024, with a value of $89.5 million.
To note, ferrous alloys and associated commodities constituted 4.89 percent of the aggregate import volume in the preceding month.
Azerbaijan imported 1.04 million tons of ferrous metals and products worth $1.2 billion in 2024. This was an increase of $77.2 million, or 7 percent, in value and 148,600 tons, or 16.5 percent, in volume compared to the previous year. Imports of ferrous metals and their products accounted for 5.59 percent of Azerbaijan's total imports.
