ASTANA, Kazakhstan, March 12. In Houston,
Chairman of the Board of KazMunayGas Askhat Khassenov held a
meeting with Eni CEO Guido Brusco, Trend reports.
Throughout the meeting, stakeholders deliberated on the current
status of joint projects, with special attention given to the
further development and long-term exploration of Kazakhstan’s
Kashagan field.
While the meeting was underway, the issues of developing domestic
value, including increasing the share of Kazakh content in large
oil and gas projects, were raised.
Additionally, the status of work on the construction of a gas
processing plant at the Karachaganak field, with a processing
capacity of 4.5 billion cubic meters of raw gas per year, was
discussed. Khasenov reinforced the significance of this project for
the country.
The entities also recognized that KazMunayGas and Eni are
actively cooperating in the field of geological exploration.
Khasenov also mentioned that KazMunayGas has prepared a new pool of
projects and invited the Italian company to co-invest.
“We highly appreciate the fruitful cooperation with Eni, which has
proven itself as a reliable partner for Kazakhstan. We will
continue our joint efforts to strengthen our positions in
international markets and implement long-term projects that
contribute to energy security and sustainable economic growth in
our countries,” concluded Khassenov.
The joint KazMunayGas and Eni project to build a hybrid power
station with a capacity of 247 MW in the Mangistau region of
Kazakhstan is planned to complete the solar power plant in the
third quarter of 2025, with the hydroelectric and wind power
stations expected to be finished in 2026.
