ASTANA, Kazakhstan, March 14. The electricity production volume of Kazakhstan’s Samruk-Energy Group for two months (from January through February) of 2025 amounted to 7,972 million kWh.
The data obtained by Trend from the Samruk-Energy. indicates that this is 5 percent higher compared to the same period in 2024
"The volumes of electricity transmission and sales by the power grid and sales companies increased, with a growth of 16 percent and 23 percent, respectively, compared to the same period last year. The increase in electricity transmission volumes is associated with the development of small and medium-sized businesses, as well as the expansion of capacity at operating enterprises in the city of Almaty and the Almaty region of Kazakhstan," information notes.
Samruk-Energy JSC is a state-owned Kazakhstani company operating across the electric power sector, encompassing coal mining, electricity generation, transmission, and distribution. Established in 2007, it is a subsidiary of Samruk-Kazyna, Kazakhstan's sovereign wealth fund.
