BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 18. Azerbaijan exported over 6,000 tons of methanol (methyl alcohol) to Israel in January 2025.
Data obtained by Trend from the State Statistics Committee indicates that the revenue from this export amounted to over $2 million.
Moreover, methanol exports to Israel decreased by around 4,100 tons, or 40.1 percent, in volume, compared to the same period last year, while the value increased by $121,000, or 6.3 percent.
Azerbaijan facilitated the exportation of more than 10,000 tons
of methanol to the Israeli market, generating an estimated revenue
of around $1.92 million in January 2024.
It is noteworthy that Azerbaijan exported an impressive volume of
35,000 tons of methanol in January 2025.
The revenue from this amount of methanol exports totaled $11.1 million. Although the volume of exports decreased by 4,200 tons, or 10.8 percent, compared to the same period last year, the value increased by $3.8 million, reflecting a rise of 52.4 percent.
In the interim, Azerbaijan successfully executed the export of 39,200 tons of methanol, generating a revenue stream of $7.3 million in January 2025.
The price of methanol per ton in January 2025 was $318.2, marking a significant annual increase of $131.9, or 70.8 percent. In January of the previous year, the price stood at $186.3 per ton.
To note, methanol exports accounted for 0.40 percent of total exports and 3.29 percent of non-oil sector exports during the reporting period.
In general, Azerbaijan achieved a methanol export volume of 474,100 tons, resulting in a substantial revenue influx of $104.4 million in the fiscal year 2024.
