BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 20. Azerbaijan allocated nearly 296.8 million manat ($174.5 million) for residential construction as part of investments directed toward the country's fixed capital from January through February 2025.

Data obtained by Trend from the State Statistical Committee indicates that this figure represents a significant increase of over 163.1 million manat ($95.9 million), or 2.2 times the amount spent in the same period of the previous year, which was around 133.7 million manat ($78.6 million) for residential building projects.

Overall, around 2 billion manat ($1.1 million) was invested in the country's economic and social sectors from all financial sources from January through February 2025, marking a 24.8 percent decrease compared to the same period last year. Investments in the oil and gas sector fell by 32.5 percent, while investments in non-oil and gas sectors decreased by 20.8 percent.

A significant portion of these investments, around 1 billion manat ($588.2) or 52.3 percent, was allocated to manufacturing sectors, while approximately 661.5 million manat ($389.1 million), or 32.9 percent, went toward service sectors.

Domestic investments accounted for 70.8 percent of the total fixed capital investments, with a large part—around 1.5 billion manat ($882.3) or 77.6 percent—being directed toward construction and installation works.
