BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 20. Azerbaijan produced over 133,400 tons of organic chemicals from January trough February 2025.
Data obtained by Trend from the State Statistics Committee indicates that this marks a decrease of 25,900 tons or 16.2 percent compared to the same period in 2024.
Meanwhile, finished product stocks reached around 15,400 tons as of March 1, 2025.
Additionally, the production of inorganic chemicals in Azerbaijan stood at around 2,700 tons in the first two months, which represents a significant drop of over 56 percent or 3,400 tons from last year’s figures.
The inventory of finished inorganic chemical products was 6,800 tons as of March 1, 2025.
Azerbaijan's chemical industry, including the production of pharmaceutical products and rubber and plastic goods, hit the ground running, with output soaring to a total value of 363.9 million manat ($214 million) from January through February 2025.
In juxtaposition to the corresponding timeframe from the previous year, the output of pharmaceutical products experienced an escalation of 21.4 percent, whereas the chemical sector's production exhibited an uptick of 11.4 percent. Nonetheless, the output metrics for rubber and plastic commodities registered a marginal contraction of 3.6 percent.
