BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 23. The volume of direct investments of the UAE in the Azerbaijani economy amounted to $490.1 million last year.
The data obtained by Trend from the country's Central Bank shows that last year's investments in Athe zerbaijani economy from this country increased by 53.7 percent, or by $171.2 million, compared to the indicator of 2023.
The share of investments from the UAE in the total volume of foreign direct investment in Azerbaijan for the reporting year amounted to 7 percent.
In turn, Azerbaijan invested $457.5 million in the economy of the UAE last year, which is 4.8 times or $362.7 million more than in 2023.
The share of Azerbaijani investments made in the UAE amounted to 26 percent of the total volume of direct foreign investments. Thus, the UAE ranked first in terms of foreign direct investment from Azerbaijan last year.
The volume of direct foreign investments from the UAE to Azerbaijan in 2023 amounted to $319 million, and the volume of investments from Azerbaijan to the mentioned country amounted to $94.8 million.
Foreign direct investments in the economy of Azerbaijan in 2024 amounted to $7.04 billion. This is by $388.1 million or 5.83 percent more than in 2023. At the same time, the volume of Azerbaijan's foreign direct investment in the reporting year totaled $1.7 billion, which is by $1.3 billion or 43.3 percent less than in 2023.
