BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 28. Azerbaijan produced over 579,100 tons of cement, marking a notable increase in output from January through February 2025.
Data obtained by Trend from the State Statistical Committee indicates that cement production rose by 5.9 percent, or 32,400 tons, compared to the same period last year, up from about 546,700 tons in 2023.
In addition to cement production, the production of cement clinker also saw a significant boost from January through February 2025. The country produced 612,900 tons of clinker, an increase of 11.2 percent or 61,900 tons from the previous year, when just over 551,000 tons were produced.
As per the State Customs Committee's data, Azerbaijan exported 142,200 tons of cement in both finished and clinker forms during January-February. This export yielded revenues of about $9.1 million, marking a growth of 32,000 tons or 29 percent in quantity and by $2.7 million or 43 percent in value compared to the same period in the previous year.
Meanwhile, Azerbaijan successfully exported 110,200 tons of ready-made and clinker cement in the reported period of 2024, generating revenue of $6.3 million.
To note, the cement exports during this period represented 0.13 percent of the country's total exports and 1.39 percent of exports from the non-oil sector.
