BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 28. Azerbaijan has significantly increased its investments in Australia's economy, with its financial contributions reaching $40.3 million in 2024.
Data obtained by Trend from the Central Bank of Azerbaijan indicates that the country's investments in Australia reached $27.2 million, which is 3.1 times higher than in 2023.
The allocation of Azerbaijan's capital infusion into the
Australian market represented a 2.3 percent share of the aggregate
foreign direct investment portfolio.
It is pertinent to highlight that the quantum of Azerbaijani
capital allocations in the Australian market was quantified at
$13.1 million in the fiscal year 2023.
Moreover, the influx of foreign direct investments into
Azerbaijan's economic landscape in 2024 surpassed the $7 billion
threshold, reflecting a notable uptick of $388.1 million,
equivalent to a 5.83 percent enhancement relative to the preceding
year, 2023.
Conversely, the aggregate quantum of outbound foreign direct
investments emanating from Azerbaijan to external jurisdictions
during the specified reporting interval totaled $1.8 billion,
reflecting a contraction of $1.4 billion, or 43.3 percent, relative
to the preceding fiscal year.
