BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 31. The volume of Norway’s foreign direct investments in the Azerbaijani economy amounted to $136.7 million last year.
The data obtained by Trend from the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA) shows
that this metric experienced a contraction of $15.5 million,
reflecting a 10.2 percent decline relative to the fiscal year
2023.
The proportion of capital influx from Norway within the aggregate
quantum of foreign direct investments in Azerbaijan constituted 1.9
percent.
Azerbaijan allocated a capital infusion of $7 million into the
Norwegian economic landscape in the previous fiscal year.
The proportion of Azerbaijani capital allocation in the Norwegian
market within the aggregate framework of foreign direct investment
stood at a mere 0.4 percent.
In the fiscal year 2023, the aggregate quantum of foreign direct
investments emanating from the Norwegian economic landscape to the
Azerbaijani market was quantified at $152.2 million, whereas the
reciprocal investment flow from the Azerbaijani sector into the
Norwegian economy was a mere $1,000.
Foreign direct investments in the economy of Azerbaijan in 2024 amounted to $7.04 billion, which is $388.1 million or 5.83 percent more than in 2023. At the same time, the volume of Azerbaijan's foreign direct investment in the reporting year totaled $1.8 billion, which is $1.4 billion or 43.3 percent less than in 2023.
