BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 2. Azerbaijan's banking sector achieved a net profit of 179.4 million manat ($105.5 million) from January through February 2025.
Data obtained by Trend from the Central Bank (CBA) indicates that this represents a decrease of 14.5 percent compared to the same period last year.
During the reporting period, banks' operating income amounted to 1.6 billion manat ($941.1 million), showing an increase of 16.1 percent. Operating expenses reached 773.7 million manat ($455.1 million), which is 28.9 percent higher than the previous year. Provisions for special reserves amounted to 61 million manat ($35.8 million), reflecting an 11.7 percent decrease, while profit tax payments stood at 43.6 million manat ($25.6 million), a 9.4 percent reduction.
