ASTANA, Kazakhstan, April 5. A ceremony was held in the Turkestan region’s Ordabasinsky district of Kazakhstan to lay the construction capsule for the new "Badam" industrial park, which aims to boost local entrepreneurship and the regional economy, Trend reports.
Local authorities and business leaders attended the event. According to the regional akim (governor) Nuralkhan Kusherov, the small industrial parks initiative is having a significant impact on local businesses.
“For the first time in the region, we have launched a 'Small Industrial Park' project in the city of Turkestan, covering an area of 100 hectares. This is a major support for our entrepreneurs. We provide them with land that has the necessary infrastructure for development, where they can build facilities. This will create new jobs. We plan to extend this important project to other districts,” said the akim.
The small industrial park in the Ordabasinsky district will cover 8 hectares and house five production facilities planned by local entrepreneurs. Future plans include developing additional industrial parks in the villages of Shubar, Shubarsu, and Temirlan.
"Entrepreneurs are very interested in working in these areas, as they are provided with land that already has the necessary infrastructure for construction," the organizers emphasized.
The primary goal of these small industrial parks is to develop the non-extractive sector and attract companies of all sizes. These initiatives are expected to create thousands of jobs, with products made under the "Made in Turkestan" brand being exported to international markets.
In addition, the akim visited the aluminum profile production project at "Central Asia Aluminum Company" LLP, which is under construction in the industrial zone of the village of Badam. This ambitious project is valued at 4.4 billion tenge (approximately $8.8 million) and will generate 200 permanent jobs.
The new plant will have a production capacity of 20,000 tons of aluminum profiles annually. The project aims to reduce unemployment, provide a substantial contribution to the regional economy, and increase the export potential of Kazakhstan's aluminum products.
