ASTANA, Kazakhstan, April 10. Kazakhstan will launch 19 new air routes to Europe, Asia, and the Middle East by the end of the year, said Minister of Transport Marat Karabaev during a meeting with President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, Trend reports.
Karabaev also reported that the construction of airports in Katon-Karagay, Zaysan, and Kendirli has begun. Additionally, the modernization of 125 railway stations is starting.
“The implementation of five major railway projects will continue: Dostyk-Moyynty, the bypass line in Almaty, Dardzaba-Maktaaral, Ayagoz-Bakhty, and Kyzylzhar-Moyynty,” said the press service of the President of Kazakhstan.
At the end, Tokayev emphasized the importance of developing the transport and logistics sector as a whole, as well as the effective and timely implementation of projects for modernizing the transport infrastructure.
In 2024, Kazakh airlines transported 14.7 million passengers, an increase of 10 percent compared to last year, while airports served 29.7 million people, an increase of 14 percent. Railway transport carried 21 million passengers (a growth of 3.9 percent).
