ASTANA, Kazakhstan, April 14. Meta and the ROO Kazakhstan Copyright Society have struck a deal to keep the music scene in Kazakhstan on the straight and narrow on Instagram and Facebook, Trend reports.
Sholpan Abderyeva, Chair of the Committee on Intellectual Property, shared the news at a conference held by the Central Communications Service (CCS).
"The Ministry of Justice served as the mediator between Meta and the collective rights management organization. We conducted negotiations, clarified legal norms, and worked towards a balanced legal resolution. Several online meetings were held with Meta, where they were open to dialogue and responded quickly to our suggestions. Today, we are pleased to announce that the agreement has been signed. The agreement will be in effect for two years," Abdreyeva stated.
Meta functions as a multifaceted technology conglomerate, overseeing a portfolio of prominent social media ecosystems and digital innovations. Previously identified as Facebook, Inc., the entity underwent a strategic rebranding to Meta, emphasizing its commitment to advancing the metaverse—a sophisticated virtual and augmented reality ecosystem that signifies the forthcoming paradigm shift in internet evolution.
