ASTANA, Kazakhstan, April 24. A total of 14 industrial zones, including five new ones with an area of 744 ha, and 84 projects worth 129 billion tenge (about $245.1 million) are currently operating in Kazakhstan's Turkestan region, Trend reports.
According to the information, 17 projects worth 49.7 billion tenge (about $94.5 million) are planned to be launched in 2025.
In addition, work is underway to open an industrial zone in the Tolebi district and expand two zones in Turkestan and the Ordabasy district.
The regional administration reminded that a project for a "Small Industrial Park" is being implemented in the Sauran district. It is planned to build 152 production facilities and attract investments of 308 billion tenge (approximately $585.2 million) to the projects. This initiative will create 6,040 jobs. To date, 11 projects have been implemented, creating 790 jobs. For example, the company JASYL SUYQ QAZAQSTAN has launched the production of industrial refrigerators.
In 2025, 29 more projects will be launched. For instance, a contract has been signed with a Chinese company to build a plant for manufacturing agricultural drones. The project is worth 5 million dollars, with the plant's capacity set at 600 drones per month.
"Given the multiplicative effectiveness of the 'Small Industrial Park' project, work is underway to implement this model in the Baidibek, Keles, Ordabasy, Tolebi, Tulkubas, Sayram, and Saryagash districts," the administration's statement said.
In April, the construction of the "Badam" industrial park began in the Ordabasy district on an area of 8 hectares. Local entrepreneurs are interested in creating five production facilities. In the villages of Yassy, Karashyk, Ushkayyk, and Zhuynek in the Sauran district, entrepreneurs have started the construction of 22 buildings on four small production sites.
On April 4, 2025, the UBC Group opened a factory for the production of JASYL SUYQ QAZAQSTAN refrigerators in the small industrial park in the Sauran district of the Turkestan region. The plant has created 1,000 jobs. The plant will feature production workshops, warehouses, administrative, and office buildings. The total investment in the project will reach 30 million euros. The project is being implemented in several stages. In the first phase, the plant plans to produce 40,000 commercial refrigerators per year.
