ASTANA, Kazakhstan, April 29. To date, the total area under crops in Kazakhstan has reached 908,500 hectares, Trend reports via the Ministry of Agriculture of Kazakhstan.
The sowing campaign is actively underway in the southern regions of the country.
According to Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Agriculture, 123,000 hectares have been sown in Almaty region, 263,500 in Turkestan, 295,500 in Zhambyl, 33,400 in Kyzylorda, 30,100 in West Kazakhstan, 2,700 in Atyrau, 142,200 in Zhetysu, and 15,700 in the city of Shymkent.
“The area under grain crops stands at 459,400 hectares, forage crops — 159,900 hectares, vegetables — 46,900 hectares, potatoes — 18,200 hectares, melons — 35,300 hectares, oilseeds — 114,000 hectares, and cotton — 43,900 hectares. A crucial stage in preparation for the spring fieldwork was moisture retention carried out over 10.7 million hectares, pre-sowing treatment on 2.5 million hectares, and spring plowing over 1.1 million hectares,” the ministry added.
Efforts to supply farmers with necessary resources are ongoing.
The fertilizer application plan for 2025 is set at 1.9 million tons. To date, contracts have been signed for the purchase of 752,800 tons, of which 504,900 tons have already been delivered.
The current agricultural season is proceeding according to plan, and the necessary measures are being taken to ensure the successful completion of the sowing campaign.
