ASTANA, Kazakhstan, May 5. Production in Kazakhstan's chemical industry grew by 7.7 percent last year, and in the oil and gas chemical sector by more than 50 percent, said the Prime Minister of Kazakhstan, Olzhas Bektenov, at a Government meeting, Trend reports.
According to him, the development of the chemical and petrochemical sectors directly contributes to strengthening the industrial potential of the country.
"The President of Kazakhstan emphasizes the strategic importance of developing chemistry and petrochemistry in the context of economic diversification and increasing its competitiveness. The chemical industry supports the development of other sectors such as agriculture, mining, metallurgy, and construction. Chemical product exports exceeded $2 billion, which is 13 percent higher than in 2023. Positive dynamics are also observed in the first quarter of 2025. Chemistry is showing a growth of 12.5 percent," emphasized the Prime Minister.
Today, a government meeting is being held under the chairmanship of Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Olzhas Bektenov. The agenda includes the development of the chemical and petrochemical industries in the country.
