BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 7. Azerbaijan exported 10 tons of iodine to India from January through February 2025,
Data obtained by Trend from the State Statistical Committee indicates that this generated a revenue of around $560,000 for the country.
However, compared to the same period last year, iodine exports to India saw a notable decrease. The quantity of exports dropped by roughly 8 tons, or 44.5 percent, while the revenue saw a decline of approximately $412,000, or 42.4 percent.
Meanwhile, Azerbaijan had exported 18 tons of iodine to India, worth nearly $972,000 from January through February 2024.
During the mentioned period, Azerbaijan also exported iodine to Russia, India, and China. Moreover, Azerbaijan imported iodine from Japan and Germany.
Azerbaijan produced 44 tons of iodine from January through March of this year. This figure decreased by 4.7 tons (9.7 percent) compared to the same period last year (48.7 tons).
