BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 9. Azerbaijan imported sturgeon roe from China, totaling 1.14 tons in the first two months of 2025.
The data obtained by Trend from the State Statistics Committee shows that
the expenditure associated with the import of this volume of roe
totaled $343,320.
The volume of sturgeon roe procured from China experienced an
uptick of 240 kilograms, translating to a 26.7 percent escalation
relative to the corresponding timeframe of last year, while the
monetary valuation surged by $73,920, reflecting a 27.4 percent
increment.
Meanwhile, during the first two months of 2024, Azerbaijan imported
0.9 tons of sturgeon caviar from China worth $269,400.
The mean valuation of sturgeon roe imported from China in the
reporting period was established at $301.1 per kilogram, exhibiting
no variance relative to the preceding annum.
The average import price of one kilogram of sturgeon roe from China
during the reporting period was $301.1, up $1.8 (0.6 percent)
compared to the same period of last year ($299.3).
