TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, May 15. During the first quarter of 2025, Uzbekistan achieved a remarkable export volume of 5,869 metric tons of tomatoes, generating a substantial revenue of $6.8 million.
Data obtained by Trend from the country's National Statistical Committee shows that this signifies a notable contraction relative to the corresponding timeframe of the previous fiscal year — a reduction of 2,131 tons in throughput and a decrement of $1.9 million in valuation — suggesting a downturn in both export metrics and international market appetite.
Russia sustained its position as the predominant importer, acquiring 5,471 tons of Uzbek tomatoes, trailed by Kyrgyzstan with 190 tons and Kazakhstan with 135 tons. Reduced quantities were additionally dispatched to the UAE, totaling 56 metric tons, alongside supplementary exports to various nations amounting to 17 metric tons.
