ASTANA, Kazakhstan, May 17. In the first quarter of this year, polypropylene production at the Kazakhstan Petrochemical Industries Inc. (KPI, a subsidiary of KazMunayGas) plant increased by 69.1 percent, reaching 47,700 tons (attributable to KazMunayGas), Trend reports.
According to the information of the company, this growth is due to the gradual increase in the number of polypropylene grades produced - from 2 grades in the first quarter of 2024 to 10 grades in the reporting quarter - and the plant's gradual ramp-up to production capacity.
Moreover, the total volume of polypropylene sales grew by 50.5 percent compared to the same period in 2024, reaching 44,700 tons:
Domestic sales of polypropylene increased by 122.3 percent, reaching 4,000 tons.
Export sales of polypropylene increased by 45.9 percent,
totaling 40,700 tons, with most of the growth in exports going to
Türkiye and Russia.
