ASTANA, Kazakhstan, May 23. A delegation from the region, led by the First Deputy Akim (Governor) of the Abai Region of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Yerbol Sadyr, is on a working visit to the Chinese city of Urumqi, Trend reports.
Members of the delegation visited the "Induolan" factory - one of the largest pharmaceutical enterprises in China.
During the visit, a memorandum of mutual cooperation was signed for the construction of a pharmaceutical plant in the city of Semei.
“The project will enable the establishment of modern pharmaceutical production in the region and create new jobs. This initiative will provide the population with high-quality and affordable medicines and will promote the development of the medical cluster in the Abai region,” the press service of the regional administration stated.
The regional delegation, led by the Akim (Governor) of the region, Berik Uali, recently took part in the international subregional conference "Greater Altai," held in the city of Altay in the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region of China. During the event, 15 memorandums worth $1.5 billion were signed between the Abai region and Chinese investors. It is especially noteworthy that during the visit, the regional chief met with about 30 Chinese investors.
