ASTANA, Kazakhstan, June 9. In the Abai region of Kazakhstan, a groundbreaking ceremony was held to launch the construction of a state-of-the-art woodworking complex, Trend reports.
According to the information, the event was attended by the First Deputy Akim (Governor) of the region, Yerbol Sadyr, and the General Director of LLP “Universal SM,” Zhandos Tursyngali, as well as representatives of the company “Chang Xing Group.”
The financial outlay for the initiative is pegged at 10 billion
tenge, which translates to an estimated $20 million in currency
exchange metrics. Subsequent to the operational rollout of the
facility, there is a strategic initiative to generate 500 new
employment opportunities. The organization will manufacture
sustainable wood composites and engineered sleepers for rail and
tram infrastructure utilizing cutting-edge technologies. The yearly
throughput of timber substrate conversion is projected to reach
500,000 cubic meters.
During the foundational milestone event, Sadyr articulated the
significance of this initiative.
“This initiative holds significant strategic value for our locality
and is pivotal for the urban advancement of Semey. New employment
opportunities will be generated, and we will also have a prime
opportunity to implement sustainable and cutting-edge
technologies,” stated Sadyr.
In accordance with the resolution of the regional coordination
council, a parcel within the industrial sector has been designated
for developmental construction activities. The inaugural phase of
the multifaceted initiative's rollout is slated for 2026.
