ASTANA, Kazakhstan, June 10. The chairman of the Management Board of NC KazMunayGas JSC, Askhat Khassenov, visited the Prorva field of Embamunaigas JSC (EMG) during a visit to the Atyrau region, and reviewed progress of projects aimed at increasing the efficiency of oil and gas production and reducing operating costs, Trend reports via KazMunayGas.
According to the information, the chief of KMG visited the construction site of the first start-up complex for the development of gas wells at Zapadnaya Prorva field in Zhylyoi district.
"In addition to the construction of the complex itself, the
project for the development of gas deposits includes the
development of the S. Nurzhanov field for the utilization of
associated petroleum gas. The project will be realized in three
stages. The first will increase oil production up to 45,000 tons
and gas production up to 160 million m³ per year. The second and
third stages are planned for 2026-2027, which will increase the
volume of gas production at Western Prorva up to 600 million m³,"
the information says.
At the South-Eastern Novobogatinskoye field in the Isatai district,
Khassenov inspected the progress of the investment project for the
construction of an integrated gas treatment unit (IGTU) with a
capacity of 80 million m³ per year. Commissioning of the unit is
scheduled for spring 2026. After the start of development of the
South-Eastern Novobogatinskoye field at the peak will produce more
than 100,000 tons of oil per year.
"Also, the head of KMG visited the training and production range of Atyrau Oil and Gas University named after S. Utebaev, which is being built with the financial support of EMG. As of today, 95 percent of construction and installation works have been completed at the training ground. Wells have been drilled to provide students with underground repair skills. A total of 15 training sites have been built where students will practice practical tasks. The commissioning of the facility is planned for the end of 2025," the company noted.
On the same day, Khassenov held a production meeting at EMG. For
5 months of the current year, the company produced 1 million
140,000 tons of oil, exceeding the plan by almost 14,000 tons.
Production plan for 2025 is 2 million 813,000 tons of oil.
The meeting addressed the issues of additional exploration of
existing fields and profitability of mature fields, development of
Karasor West field to start oil production this year with
recoverable reserves of 3 million 102 thousand tons of oil and 96
million m³ of gas, development of gas reservoirs of Kisimbay and
Akingen fields, improvement of social and living conditions of
employees.
Following the meeting, Khassenov set a number of tasks for Embamunaigas on the quality implementation of current investment projects to increase oil and gas production, as well as the optimization of operating costs for the sustainable development of the company.
