BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 16. Pharmaceutical products and medical supplies worth 598.1 million manat ($351.8 million) were sold to consumers in Azerbaijan from January through May 2025.
Data obtained by Trend from the State Statistics Committee indicates that this figure represents an increase of 18.2 percent compared to the same period in 2024.
The share of pharmaceutical products and medical supplies in the total retail trade turnover amounted to 2.6 percent.
In total, retail outlets across Azerbaijan sold goods worth 23.3 billion manat ($13.7 billion) to consumers from January through May 2025. This included 13 billion manat ($7.6 billion) in food, beverages, and tobacco products, and 10.2 billion manat ($5.9 billion) in non-food items.
Compared to the same period in the previous year, the overall retail trade turnover rose by 3.8 percent in real terms. The growth rate was 1.6 percent for food, beverages, and tobacco products, and 6.5 percent for non-food items.
