BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 17. Azerbaijan produced 2,052 passenger cars from January through May 2025.
Data obtained by Trend from the State Statistics Committee indicates that this marks a 47.7 percent, or 663 units, increase compared to the same period in the previous year.
The country manufactured 1,389 units during the same period last year. However, the production of trucks fell sharply, with only 44 units produced, 5.8 times fewer than in the comparable period of 2024.
Meanwhile, from January through May 2025, total output in the manufacturing of machinery, equipment, motor vehicles, trailers, and semi-trailers amounted to 246.9 million manat ($145.2 million). The production of machinery and equipment increased by 7.7 percent, while the output of motor vehicles and related components decreased by 13 percent.
