ASTANA, Kazakhstan, June 30. The government of Kazakhstan has opened the purse strings, setting aside over 2.5 billion tenge (around $4.8 million) to get the heating networks in the East Kazakhstan Region back on track, Trend reports.
Per the data provided, the capital allocation will be earmarked
for the execution of remedial operations on the thermal
distribution infrastructure within the urban locality of Ridder and
the community of K. Kaisenov.
“The principal segment of the designated capital is earmarked for
the comprehensive refurbishment of 5.9 km of the most compromised
segments of Ridder's thermal infrastructure,” the official paper
reads.
In the localized infrastructures of the East Kazakhstan Region, the
thermal regulation systems have been operational for over three
decades. Throughout this period, there has been an absence of
significant infrastructural redevelopment initiatives. The mean
degradation metric surpasses 55 percent, with certain localized
assessments indicating values exceeding 75 percent.
In May 2025, approximately 1.7 billion tenge (equivalent to about
$3.3 million) had been earmarked from the governmental reserve fund
for the refurbishment of two boiler units, the substitution of
certain electrical apparatus, and additional requisites of the
Ridder Thermal Power Plant.
"Thanks to prompt actions, the wear level has decreased from 82 percent to 66.8 percent over the past two years," the source in the government noted.
