BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 2. The value of sales of the National Iranian Copper Industries Company (NICICO) grew by 33 percent during the first three months of the current Iranian year (from March 21 through June 21, 2025), compared to the same period last year.
The data obtained by Trend from the company shows that this figure amounted to approximately 459 trillion rials (around $764 million); however, in the same period last year, the company's sales stood at 344 trillion rials (nearly $572 million).
In the third month (from May 22 through June 21, 2025), the value of sales of the NICICO reached approximately 147 trillion rials (about $244 million), rising by 110 percent compared to the same period last year—from May 21 through June 20, 2024—approximately 70 trillion rials (circa $116 million).
The National Iranian Copper Industries Company has disseminated information indicating that the aggregate copper reserves within Iran are quantified at 19 billion tons. Sarcheshmeh and Sungun are recognized as the principal copper extraction sites within the national mining landscape.
