Iran pulls lid over wheat purchase volume
Since April 5, Iran has purchased 4.5 million tons of wheat from farmers under a guaranteed contract, according to the National Wheat Farmers Foundation. Most of the wheat came from Khuzestan and Kurdistan provinces. So far, farmers have received 453 trillion rials (about $755 million) in payments.
