ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, July 5. Turkmenistan and Germany’s Commerzbank AG are exploring new opportunities for expanding interbank cooperation and financing partnerships, Trend reports via the press service of the Turkmen Consulate in Germany.
On July 3, a working meeting took place in Frankfurt am Main between the Consul of Turkmenistan in Germany, Murad Ozbekbayev, and representatives of Commerzbank AG, one of Germany’s leading financial institutions. The German side was represented by Andrey Kononov, Director and Senior Manager for Interaction with Financial Institutions.
The sides noted the steady growth and sustainable development of cooperation between Commerzbank and financial institutions in Turkmenistan. Discussions centered on enhancing export financing mechanisms, supporting investment projects, and promoting access to financial resources for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Turkmenistan.
The meeting also touched on the possibility of holding joint business events in Frankfurt to further strengthen Turkmen-German economic ties.
Commerzbank AG, headquartered in Frankfurt, is one of the largest banks in Germany and Europe. The bank began working with Turkmen partners in the mid-1990s and has operated a representative office in Ashgabat since 2008.
