BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 17. Azerbaijan exported 174 million cubic meters of natural gas to Serbia, generating $98.4 million in revenue from January through May 2025.
Data obtained by Trend from the State Statistics Committee indicates that Azerbaijan's gas exports to Serbia increased by 154.1 million cubic meters, an 8.6-fold rise in volume, while revenue grew by $91.5 million, representing a 14.3-fold surge compared to the same period last year.
Meanwhile, Azerbaijan exported 19.9 million cubic meters of natural gas to Serbia, generating $6.9 million in revenue during the reporting period.
Overall, Azerbaijan imported 195.6 million cubic meters of natural gas in these five months, spending around $30.1 million. Compared to the previous year, total gas imports declined by 33.6 percent in volume and 31.9 percent in value.
Azerbaijan imported 195.6 million cubic meters of natural gas from abroad, with the total import cost amounting to $30.1 million from January through May 2025.
Meanwhile, natural gas imports decreased by 99.2 million cubic meters, or 33.6 percent in volume terms, and by $14.1 million, or 31.9 percent in value terms, compared to the same period last year (294.8 million cubic meters of natural gas worth $44.2 million).
Azerbaijan exported 10.2 billion cubic meters of natural gas worth $3.83 billion during the reporting period, reflecting an annual increase of 358 million cubic meters (3.6 percent) and $382 million (11.1 percent), respectively. In comparison, Azerbaijan exported 9.913 billion cubic meters of natural gas valued at $3.45 billion in the same period of 2024.
Moreover, Azerbaijan imported natural gas from Russia and Turkmenistan and exported it to Georgia, Serbia, Türkiye, Bulgaria, Italy, and Greece during the mentioned period.
