ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, July 18. Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Asia Pacific Pte. Ltd. (MHI-AP), a subsidiary of Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Ltd., has signed a three-year service contract with Turkmenistan’s State Concern Turkmenhimiya to support operations at the Garabogazkarbamid fertilizer plant, Trend reports, citing the company's press service.
Under the agreement, MHI-AP will provide spare parts for critical rotating equipment including gas turbine generators, compressors, and pumps produced by MHI Group companies. The contract also covers other spare parts and consumables, and will be executed in partnership with Mitsubishi Corporation.
The Garabogazkarbamid plant, located in Garabogaz, Balkan region, is the largest urea production facility in Central Asia, with a design capacity of 1.155 million tons per year. Built by Mitsubishi Corporation and Turkish contractor Gap İnşaat, the plant incorporates technologies from leading international licensors—Haldor Topsoe (Denmark) for ammonia, Saipem (Italy) for urea, and Uhde Fertilizer Technologies (Netherlands) for granulation.

He emphasized that MHI Group’s approach is to support clients throughout the full lifecycle of industrial projects—from EPC implementation to long-term plant maintenance.
