BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 16. A total of 5.4 million tons of cargo were transported by sea in Azerbaijan from January through July 2025.
The data obtained by Trend from the State Statistical Committee shows that figure grew by 10 percent year-on-year.
In the interim, hydrocarbon shipments constituted 48.2 percent
of the aggregate throughput.
A cumulative throughput of 7.9 million tons was executed through
maritime terminals, with 6.4 million tons, representing 80.9
percent, classified as transshipment cargo.
As of August 1, 2025, the aggregate tonnage of residual cargo at
the ports totaled 338,600 tons.
In the specified timeframe, the passenger throughput via this
transportation modality experienced a contraction of 5.7 percent
relative to the corresponding timeframe in 2024, culminating in a
total of 14,800 individuals.
