BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 4. The volume of transactions processed through Azerbaijan’s National Instant Payment System (AZIPS) surged in August 2025, exceeding 68.3 billion manat ($40.1 billion), with the total number of transactions exceeding 189,200.
Data obtained by Trend from the Central Bank of Azerbaijan indicates
that the transactional throughput escalated by 13.9 billion manat
($8.1 billion), reflecting a robust growth of 25.6 percent, while
the aggregate transaction count surged by 1,300, equating to a
marginal increase of 0.7 percent, in juxtaposition to the
corresponding month from the previous year.
In the interim, AZIPS documented a transactional throughput
exceeding 54.4 billion manat (equivalent to $32 billion) alongside
a total of over 187,900 operational executions in August 2024.
Azerbaijan's National Instant Payment System, initiated by the Central Bank of Azerbaijan in 2020, is designed to enable continuous, real-time monetary transactions among individuals, enterprises, and governmental entities through the utilization of streamlined identifiers such as mobile numbers, Tax Identification Numbers (TINs), or email addresses. The platform facilitates instantaneous transactional capabilities in Azerbaijani Manats, with a strategic objective to bolster digital financial inclusivity.
