BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 14. Iran exported $571 million worth of 2.33 million tons of goods to Iraq through the Shalamcheh customs point in Khuzestan Province in the first six months of the current Iranian year (from March 21 through September 22, 2025), Director General of the Khorramshahr Customs Office Gholamreza Nikraftar told reporters, Trend reports.
The official pointed out that the bread and butter of their exports included cement, vegetables, iron products, and construction materials.
He indicated that the throughput via the Khorramshahr customs node reached a valuation of $58.4 million, aggregating to 905,000 metric tons of commodities dispatched to Iraq and Kuwait. The consignment predominantly encompassed cementitious materials, reinforcing steel, hydrocarbon derivatives, gypsum substrates, aquatic protein sources, crustaceans, and leafy vegetables.
Nikraftar also noted that $315 million worth of 80,000 tons of goods were imported through Khorramshahr, mainly comprising automobile spare parts and machinery components for road construction. He stated that the revenue from customs operating under the Khorramshahr Customs Office reached 21.8 trillion rials (about $37.4 million), marking a 23 percent increase compared to the same period last year (from March 20 through September 21, 2024).
