ASTANA, Kazakhstan, February 15. The airports of Astana, Aktau, Shymkent, and Karaganda are expected to be included in special economic zones (SEZs), Trend reports.
This initiative has been proposed by Kazakhstan's Ministry of Industry, aiming to enhance the export potential of the regions.
The capital’s Nursultan Nazarbayev Airport will be included in the "Astana – Technopolis" SEZ. Shymkent Airport will become part of the "Ontustik" SEZ. Karaganda’s Saryarka Airport is planned to be incorporated into the SEZ of the same name. Aktau Airport will be included in the "Morport Aktau" SEZ.
SEZs in Kazakhstan offer several advantages for investors and entrepreneurs, including: tax benefits, customs preferences, infrastructure support, simplified administrative procedures.
The project, published on the Kazakhstan’s "Open NLA" portal, will be open for discussion until February 28, 2025.
To note, NLAs (normative legal acts) are legislative and regulatory documents. In Kazakhstan, the “Open NLA” - is a government portal where draft laws, regulations and other legal documents are published for public discussion. Citizens, experts and business representatives can make their suggestions and comments before the final adoption of these acts.
