The Azerbaijani Ministry of Finance is examining new models for mandatory health insurance in the country.
The effective cooperation between the state and private sectors will be a distinctive feature of the new system, Azerbaijani Deputy Finance Minister Azer Bayramov told media on Thursday.
Azerbaijani Minister Samir Sharifov told media that there is a legal framework to increase mandatory health insurance and it is time to use this kind.
"The health care system has been recently improved in Azerbaijan," Sharifov said. "This allows the use of mandatory medical insurance in practice."
The fourth International Insurance Forum is being held in Baku on June 20-21.
