Iran annually exports $160 million worth of sulfur from Hasheminejad Refinery, the refinery's managing director said on Wednesday.
Hasheminejad Refinery daily produces 2,000 tons of sulfur which makes it the country's biggest sulfur producer, the ISNA News Agency quoted Masoud Hasani as saying.
He went on to note that annually some 400,000 tons of sulfur out of the refinery's total output of 600,000 tons are being exported.
"Some 200,000 tons of sulfur worth 40 million dollars will also be sold at the domestic markets," Hasani explained.
Shahid Hasheminejad gas processing plant as the only refining facility in eastern part of Iran is fed by gas reserves located in Khangiran near Sarakhs city, 165 kilometers east of Mashhad City, capital of Khorasan Razavi province.
The facility supplies gas to six provinces of the country and produces variety of products including naphtha, kerosene, gasoil and raw gasoline.
